I am an artist based in Greensboro North Carolina.I have been a student for three years at Guilford Technical Community College earning a associate in Fine Arts .Since beginning my degree at Guilford tech, I’ve participated in three juried art shows and placed second places in one of them. Additionally, I participated in my first art show outside of school (summer of 2024) at the Craven arts Councill & Gallery in New Bern NC alongside other local artist for a Juneteenth event.
Creating art is one of the few moments in my life where I feel truly present, fully connected to my body and my emotions. Working with oil paint allows me to build my portraits slowly layering bright colors and bold patterns to express the emotion of my subjects to tell their stories. Oil paint became my go to choice every time because it brought my portraits to life with a noticeable realism. I love how seamlessly it blends allowing the subtle purple, reds and blues in the skin to emerge naturally.
I often Listen to music that inspires me, like listening to neo soul, R&B or more importantly jazz. Jazz in particular, Transports me into a moment of romance, freedom, expression, hope, joy- a true release of worry. That same feeling is what I hope you feel when you come encounter my art.
